KABUL, Afghanistan — A deadly traffic accident on the Kabul-Kandahar highway has left 20 people dead and five others injured, according to local sources.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night in Ghazni province when a passenger bus collided with a gas tanker, sources told Amu.
Women and children are reported to be among the victims, adding to the tragedy of the crash.
The Kabul-Kandahar highway, a major route connecting central and southern Afghanistan, has been the site of frequent accidents, often attributed to poor road conditions, reckless driving, and overloaded vehicles.
Taliban have yet to release a formal statement on the accident.
