Afghanistan secures ODI series victory over Bangladesh, winning 2-1

Afghanistan clinched a 2-1 victory in their One Day International series against Bangladesh, winning the decisive final match by five wickets in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.

Opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz anchored Afghanistan’s innings with a commanding 101 runs off 120 balls, while Azmatullah Omarzai added a crucial 70 runs off 77 balls.

Bangladesh, having won the toss and elected to bat first, set a target of 245 runs, led by Mahmudullah’s 98 runs off 98 balls.

Omarzai excelled not only with the bat but also with the ball, delivering an impressive performance by taking four wickets for 37 runs in seven overs.

When chasing the runs, Afghanistan’s Rahmanullah Gurbaz made 101 runs, Azmatullah Omarzai made 70 and Mohammad Nabi made 34 runs in astonishing performance to lead their team to the victory.

Afghanistan initially took the lead in the series with a 92-run win in the first match but lost the second by 68 runs, setting up a decisive third match. This series was hosted by Afghanistan at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
