SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan — A woman in Afghanistan’s northern Jawzjan province has given birth to sextuplets at a private hospital, local sources told Amu on Monday.
The six newborns, four girls and two boys, were delivered Monday, Oct. 28, at Shukran Private Hospital in Shiberghan, the provincial capital.
Hospital director Kazim Siddiqi reported that both the babies and their mother are in stable condition.
Doctors at the hospital described the infants’ health as satisfactory, with Siddiqi adding that the mother’s condition is also stable following the rare birth.
