Pakistani security forces killed nine insurgents in an overnight raid in Bajaur district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the military said on Thursday.
The operation also led to the seizure of weapons and ammunition. The military did not provide details on the militants’ identities or affiliations.
However, such raids frequently target the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Bajaur was once a base for the TTP until they were largely driven out by repeated military operations.
Since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan in 2021, the TTP has been emboldened, increasing its attacks on Pakistani forces.
