Child killed in traffic accident in Baghlan

A traffic accident on the Pul-e Khumri-Aibak highway in the northern province of Baghlan left one child dead and six others injured, including women and children, according to Taliban officials.

Quoting Taliban officials, the Taliban-run Bakhtar News Agency reported that the accident occurred when a vehicle overturned on the highway.

Taliban officials attributed the incident to driver negligence.

In recent months, traffic accidents have spiked across Afghanistan. While the Taliban-run traffic department has cited driver negligence as the primary cause, many citizens have pointed to poor road conditions as a major factor contributing to the increase in accidents.
