MUSCAT, Oman — Afghanistan’s A cricket team emerged as the champions of the tri-nation T20 series held in Oman, which featured matches against Hong Kong and the host country, Oman.
Although the final match against Hong Kong, scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, was canceled due to rain, Afghanistan was declared the series winner based on their two earlier victories over Oman and Hong Kong. The Afghanistan Cricket Board credited the team’s overall performance, which secured the title based on their strong showing throughout the series.
Looking ahead, Afghan cricket officials announced that the national team will also compete in the upcoming ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, where they will face off against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong. The first match is scheduled for October 18 against Sri Lanka, marking Afghanistan’s continued participation in international cricket.
