Sources: Taliban arrest journalist in Kabul

Sources have informed Amu News that Mahdi Ansari, a journalist with the Afghan News Agency, has been arrested by the Taliban in Kabul.

According to one source, Ansari was detained on Saturday at the Pul-e-Khoshk checkpoint in the western part of the city.

The sources added that the Taliban transferred him to a detention facility following his arrest.

Relatives of the journalist have expressed concern, stating they have not received any information about his whereabouts since his detention.

Family members have said Ansari is being held at the Taliban’s Intelligence Directorate 40.

The reason for his arrest remains unclear, and the Taliban have yet to comment on the incident.
