The family of Khyber Hoshmand, a political analyst, confirmed to Amu TV that the Taliban has arrested him in Kabul.
Hoshmand’s detention marks the third arrest of a political analyst in Kabul within the past week.
According to his relatives, Hoshmand was taken into custody by the Taliban on Thursday, September 26.
The reason for his arrest remains unclear, and his family has expressed growing concern, stating that they have no information about his whereabouts or condition.
Hoshmand was known for his appearances in the media, where he frequently spoke in defense of citizens’ rights.
His arrest follows the detention of Shapoor Hassanzoi, a former member of Afghanistan’s parliament, who was arrested by the Taliban in Nangarhar province.
Last week, sources also confirmed to Amu TV that Taliban intelligence forces had detained Javid Kohistani, a political and military analyst, in Kabul.
Taliban has not yet commented on these arrests.
