UNAMA seeks probe into deadly Ghor attack

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemned Thursday’s deadly attack in central Afghanistan that left 14 members of the Shia community dead and six more injured.

In a statement issued Friday, the UN mission expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and called for an investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable.

The attack, which took place in the Khomi area of Ghor province, killed at least 14 people and wounded six others, according to local reports.

Taliban also condemned the assault, calling it a “brutal act by enemies of humanity.”

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, with the militant group stating that they targeted civilians in the area, killing 15 and injuring six.
