Amidst heavy rains and flooding in Afghanistan’s eastern Nangarhar Province, the collapse of a roof in the Sarhkrod district has killed seven members of a single family.
Two other family members were injured in the incident, their relatives said.
Izzatullah, a relative of the family, told Amu that the victims included the father, mother, and their five children.
He added that the family had been struggling with severe economic hardship even before the tragedy.
Taliban reported that at least 10 people have died over the past three days due to floods and heavy rains across various provinces.
Nangarhar experienced severe flooding on Tuesday evening, August 20, which also claimed the life of a child and injured six others, according to the provincial governor’s office.
