KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban-run Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain, flooding, and thunderstorms in 15 provinces of the country.
The forecast applies to Monday and Tuesday. The affected provinces are Badakhshan, Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kapisa, Panjshir, Parwan, Logar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Paktia, Khost, Paktika, and Kabul.
The department also warned of strong winds in northern, western, southern, eastern, and central provinces, including the Salang Passes. Rainfall is expected to range between 10 and 40 millimeters.
This warning comes as residents of Bihsood district in Maidan Wardak reported heavy financial losses from floods that hit several parts of the district on Sunday.
