Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Taliban’s defense minister, at a ceremony marking Afghanistan’s Independence Day on Sunday, called on Taliban members to demonstrate absolute obedience to their leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada, likening their loyalty to that of a “corpse on a washboard”.
