Taliban announced that Uzbekistan’s minister of industry and commerce arrived in Kabul on Thursday, leading a delegation for “economic and trade meetings.”
In a statement, the Taliban’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said the purpose of the visit is to hold “trilateral meetings with Afghanistan and Azerbaijan.”
According to the statement, the discussions will focus on enhancing trilateral economic and trade relations, progress in the transport and logistics sectors, geological exploration of solid mineral resources in Afghanistan, assessment of high-potential areas for minerals and hydrocarbons, and the implementation of a cement production project in northern Afghanistan with a capacity of one million tons per year.
Additionally, the Taliban’s Ministry of Trade stated that an exhibition of Uzbekistan’s industrial products is planned to be held in Kabul.
Last month, Nuriddin Azizi, the Taliban’s Minister of Industry and Trade, visited Uzbekistan.
