10 injured in traffic accident in eastern Afghanistan

A traffic accident in Kunar province injured 10 people on Friday, according to Taliban-run media reports. The incident occurred in the Shawkhor area of Nari district, the Bakhtar News Agency reported.

The accident in Kunar follows two separate incidents in Bamiyan province earlier this week, where two people, including a woman and a child, were killed, and 10 others were injured.

Poor road conditions and driver negligence have been identified as major contributors to the rising number of traffic accidents in Afghanistan. Since the Taliban took power, many infrastructure projects, including road asphalting, have stalled due to the suspension of international funding.
