An annual report by Panjshiriyan Global Council, a research center established by former officials, claims that over the past three years, Taliban has killed 283 people, tortured 500 and forcibly displaced 2,477 others.

The report says that these actions by the Taliban violate both national and international laws and should be considered crimes.

In a virtual press conference, the center presented its year-long report findings, detailing the number of those killed, tortured, and forcibly displaced by the Taliban.

The report says that Taliban has forced 2,477 people, including women and children, to leave their homes in various districts of the province, often replacing them with Taliban family members.

These statistics, according to the council, are based on information gathered from local sources in Panjshir.

The council also noted that Taliban has deployed 21,000 armed forces to Panjshir.

Taliban has yet to respond to these allegations. Previously, they have consistently denied accusations of killing and torturing civilians.

The Panjshiriyan Global Council was established by a group of political figures and officials from the former government of Afghanistan in exile.
