Soheil Fadaei, a former national jiu-jitsu champion, has won the gold medal at the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) championship.
Fadaei secured the medal for Afghanistan after defeating his Brazilian opponent in the 72-kilogram weight category.
The gold medal was awarded to Fadaei in the United States. The competition between the Afghan jiu-jitsu athlete and his Brazilian rival took place in Dallas, Texas.
