Petition to invite Ahmad Massoud to Congress crosses 200,000 signatures

A petition initiated by American TV producer Shawn Ryan and his company, launched three weeks ago, has garnered over 200,000 signatures. The petition calls for the invitation of Ahmad Massoud, leader of the “National Resistance Front of Afghanistan”, to testify before the United States Congress about the situation in Afghanistan.

Ryan’s initiative aims to brief Congress members on the need to cease financial support to the Taliban.

“His testimony will shed light on the real situation and contribute to a more informed decision-making process concerning the allocation of funds,” Ryan said in a statement. He added that Congress should redirect financial support towards Massoud’s Resistance Front.

Ahmad Massoud, the son of the late Jihadi commander Ahmad Shah Massoud, established the resistance front following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.

“Shawn & Company support the petition’s call today. Insist that our representatives invite Commander Massoud to speak, and let’s put an end to funding those beholden to terror,” the statement said.

The petition urges people to sign and demand that Ahmad Massoud be invited to testify before Congress.
