India resumes issuing visas to Afghan nationals

India has begun issuing visas to Afghan nationals, a move confirmed by Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

During a recent press conference, Jaiswal emphasized India’s enduring relationship with Afghanistan, stating, “We have historical ties with the people of Afghanistan.” He further highlighted India’s ongoing commitment to this partnership, referencing budget allocations that reflect this dedication.

Following the fall of the previous Afghan government, India had closed its embassy in Kabul. Currently, only a technical team remains stationed at the embassy in Kabul.
