Taliban inspects private media archives in Ghor Province

KABUL, Afghanistan — Sources have confirmed to Amu that Taliban has inspected the archives of private media outlets in the central province of Ghor.

According to sources, Abdulhai Zaeem, the head of information and culture for the Taliban in Ghor, along with several Taliban members, visited private media outlets on Tuesday, July 23, to review their archives.

While the purpose of this inspection remains unclear, sources suggest that the Taliban are searching for specific programs from an international media organization that were previously broadcast through these outlets.

The Taliban have not commented on the matter.

This development comes amid a broader crackdown on the press by the Taliban, who have detained dozens of journalists and imposed severe restrictions on media and access to information over the past three years.
