Pakistan army reports killing three militants in border clash near Afghanistan

The Pakistan army announced that three militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces along the Afghanistan border, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The confrontation occurred in the Dir District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The infiltrators were surrounded, effectively engaged and after an intense fire exchange, all three terrorists were sent to hell,” the statement declared.

The ISPR reiterated its call for the Taliban to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. “The Interim Afghan Government [Taliban] is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for perpetuating acts of terrorism against Pakistan,” the statement read.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Taliban of supporting the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), although the Taliban has denied these allegations.
