Flood warnings issued amid casualties in several provinces

Taliban issued flood warnings on Monday, forecasting heavy rainfall, strong winds, and potential floods in 12 provinces on July 15-16.

The alert follows reports of numerous fatalities and injuries caused by recent natural disasters, particularly in the eastern province of Nangarhar.

The Taliban’s meteorological department predicted rainfalls of 15 to 30 millimeters and potential flooding in Badakhshan, Nuristan, Laghman, Nangarhar, Logar, Paktia, Khost, and Panjshir provinces.

Taliban-run state media reported that over 35 people have died in the floods, with scores of others injured.
