The Taliban-run Ministry of Refugees reported the release of 13 Afghan citizens from Pakistani prisons.
According to the ministry’s statement, these individuals had been imprisoned for at least one month due to lacking “legal documents” to stay in Pakistan.
Those released returned home on Tuesday, July 2, through the Torkham crossing, the statement said.
Last Sunday, Pakistan initiated a new phase of deportations of undocumented Afghan migrants. Pakistani officials have said that at least 800,000 Afghan migrants will be deported from Pakistan during this phase.
