Taliban condemn Pakistani defense minister’s remarks as ‘reckless’

Taliban has denounced remarks made by Pakistan’s Defense Minister regarding Islamabad’s ability to target Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts in Afghanistan, calling them “reckless” and a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.

In a statement, Taliban defense ministry spokesman Enayatullah Khawarazmi criticized the comments, stating that they benefit “no one.”

He urged the Pakistani government to prevent such “provocative” statements.

These remarks follow Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif’s assertion that Islamabad is capable of conducting cross-border strikes in Afghanistan to target TTP hideouts.

Pakistan has repeatedly called on the Taliban to take action against TTP activities in Afghanistan, but the Taliban has consistently denied the presence of TTP militants within Afghan territory.
