BAMIYAN, Afghanistan — Taliban has reported that recent floods have inflicted severe damage on residents and infrastructure in central Bamiyan province.
According to the Taliban-run RTA, the floods devastated 41 hectares of land, destroyed 12 houses, and damaged 26 kilometers of road.
The affected areas include Saighan and Gulistan, where 61 livestock were also lost.
This local disaster is part of a broader crisis affecting Afghanistan. Over 350 people have died as a result of floods that have struck the northern, northeastern, and western provinces of the country.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that these floods have destroyed 7,800 houses nationwide, highlighting the extensive impact of the recent weather events on Afghanistan’s already vulnerable population.
