Traffic accident on Kabul-Jalalabad Highway kills one, injures five

A traffic accident on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway has left one person dead and five others injured, according to local reports.

Younus Yusufzai, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Laghman province, stated that the accident occurred due to a collision between three vehicles.

Doctors at Laghman Provincial Hospital reported that the condition of the injured is improving.

According to data compiled by Amu TV, more than 100 people have died and dozens more have been injured in various traffic accidents across Afghanistan over the past two months. The recent rise in casualties from road accidents is considered significant.

Taliban traffic authorities have previously stated that most of these incidents are caused by reckless driving and excessive speeding.
