An avalanche in Ghor province has killed three men along the Ghor-Helmand highway in Pasaband district, local Taliban officials said.
Abdul Rahman Badri, the Taliban police spokesperson in Ghor, said the avalanche struck in the Anqarchaq area of Pasaband district, burying the victims as they traveled toward Helmand province.
According to Badri, residents of the area helped recover the bodies from beneath the snow before they were returned to their families.
Ghor has experienced heavy snowfall this winter, frequently blocking highways connecting the province to neighboring regions and cutting off district roads.
