KABUL, Afghanistan — Afghanistan’s national beach soccer team has been placed in Group C for the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Championship, set to take place in Thailand from March 20.
Afghanistan will compete against Iran, Indonesia, and the United Arab Emirates in the group stage of the tournament, which will determine Asia’s top teams in the sport.
The championship serves as a qualifier for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, with the top three teams earning spots to represent Asia on the global stage.
Soccer players said this marks a significant opportunity for the country’s beach soccer team to showcase their talent and compete for a chance to play on the world stage.
