KABUL — A source inside the Taliban-run Attorney General’s Office said that Monday’s suicide bombing near the Taliban-run Attorney General’s Office in Kabul killed at least 34 people and wounded 22 others.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Amu TV that most of the victims were prosecutors from the former government.

In a statement, the Afghanistan Prosecutors’ Association confirmed the deaths of 16 prosecutors in the attack.

However, Taliban officials have reported a lower death toll, claiming that only six people were killed in the explosion.

The attack marks another deadly incident in a city grappling with security challenges under the Taliban regime.
