Spin Boldak border crossing closes again after brief reopening

The Spin Boldak border crossing in Kandahar Province in the south, a crucial passage between Afghanistan and Pakistan, was closed again less than a day after its reopening.

Sources from Kandahar informed Amu that the crossing was temporarily opened by Pakistani officials on Sunday to facilitate the deportation of migrants. However, by Monday morning, the border was shut once more.

According to these sources, Pakistani authorities closed the crossing due to Afghan citizens lacking proper legal documents for border crossing.

This recent closure follows several instances in recent months where Pakistani officials have shut down their border crossings with Afghanistan.

The Pakistani side has cited the lack of passports and visas among Afghan citizens attempting to enter Pakistan as the reason for these closures.
