Fire erupts near MSF facility in Khost

A fire broke out early Wednesday near a hospital operated by Doctors Without Borders (MSF) in the southeastern city of Khost, according to local sources.

Witnesses said the fire started in a cluster of nearby shops adjacent to the MSF hospital. The cause has not been determined.

Emergency responders brought the fire under control, but the extent of the damage remains unclear, the sources said.

The incident comes amid a series of recent fires across Afghanistan, which have resulted in heavy financial losses in several provinces.
