Iran’s foreign minister calls on U.S. to condemn Israeli strikes

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Sunday accused the United States of complicity in recent Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, and called on Washington to publicly condemn the strikes.

“We have received messages through various channels claiming the U.S. was not involved in the attacks. But we do not believe this, and we possess evidence to the contrary,” Araghchi said.

He insisted that the Israeli operations could not have taken place without what he called a “green light” from Washington, and said the United States must take responsibility for its role.

The minister’s comments come amid heightened tensions following Israeli strikes on key nuclear sites in Iran. Araghchi also blamed the escalation for stalling indirect nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington. “The next round of talks could have paved the way for an agreement,” he said, “but Israel deliberately sabotaged the process with its military action.”

Speaking at a meeting with ambassadors from several countries, Araghchi said Iran was not seeking a broader war. However, he warned that Tehran would respond in kind if the attacks continued. “If Israel halts its aggression, we will also stop our operations,” he said.
